We are really eating up these near-daily casting updates coming from the Capitol right now.
The latest tribute addition to "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" is "Blue Mountain State" star Alan Ritchson, who'll portray District 1's fierce male victor Gloss... Don't mind us while we pick up our jaws off the floor. Are we sure he's not Finnick Odair? Yes? Okay.
Taking a look at his resume, you guessed it: In addition to being a long-time TV actor Hotson Ritchson also has experience modelling. You might've seen his muscles face before on shows like "Smallville" or "90210" (and you might've heard his, er, vocal stylings on "American Idol") but we have a feeling the casting agents'll be calling him up a lot more after "Hunger Games" fans get a hold of this news.
Gloss was described in the books as classically beautiful and strong. Well played. It'll be really hard to hate him too much in "Catching Fire," even as he [spoiler alert] takes out another tribute with a knife to the throat.
Ritchson joins a boatload of previously announced newcomers to "The Hunger Games" franchise for movie two, including Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee, Jena Malone as Johanna Mason, Amanda Plummer as Wiress, Lynn Cohen as Mags, Meta Golding as Enobaria, and Bruno Gunn as Brutus. Sam Claflin and Patrick St. Espirit are also rumored additions for the characters Finnick and Thread, respectively.
What do you think of Alan Ritchson as Gloss? Shiny, right?
