Herc Has A Crackpot Theory About The NCC-1031!!

I am – Hercules!!
I’m certain someone on the Internet has already thought of this but so far it’s been absent from the AICN comment section.
In “Deep Space Nine” we learned of a black ops organization that operates independently of Starfleet Intelligence. We saw it again in UPN’s “Enterprise” and we saw an Abramsverse version of it in “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
In each instance this secret organization was referred to as Section 31 (so named because it derives its operating authority from the Starfleet charter – Article 14, Section 31).
Section 31 has always been charged with dealing with “extraordinary” threats to the Federation.

I suspect this is why the U.S.S. Discovery sports the numerical designation NCC-1031. (The “10” part added of course just to make it more Halloweeny.)
If the ship is a component of the secret Section 31, that might also explain why the Discovery appears to make its home hidden in a hollowed-out asteroid.
“Star Trek: Discovery,” with a writers room headed by Trek vets Bryan Fuller (“Deep Space Nine,” “Voyager”) and Nicholas Meyer (“The Wrath of Khan,” “The Voyage Home,” “The Undiscovered Country”), hits the online streaming service CBS All Access in January.

The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day – From the Making of The ’66 Batman Show!

Adam West suits up in this gorgeous black and white BTS image!

Read the full article on AICN

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Thought I forgot about the BTS pic today, didn’t you? Technically it’s still Saturday on the West Coast, so I’m going to go ahead and say I’m not late with this one.
It was a day of Comic-Con news flying fast and furious that put this column on the backburner, so it’s only fitting that today’s image is of Batman. Specifically it’s an awesome, beautiful black and white shot of the great Adam West putting on his cowl, which I believe originated from a spread in Look Magazine.

Since tomorrow marks the last day of Comic-Con I’m gonna go ahead and run with another classic TV superhero (cue sad hitchhiking theme). See ya’ then!

The Night Of 1.3 FAQ
What’s it called? “A Dark Crate.”
Who’s responsible? Storytelling genius Steve Zaillian (“Searching For Bobby Fischer”) directs from a teleplay by storytelling genius Richard Price (“Mad Dog and Glory”).
What says HBO? “Awaiting his formal arraignment at Rikers Island, Naz (Riz Ahmed) realizes that his survival, or perhaps his demise, rests with a particular inmate, Freddy (Michael Kenneth Williams).”
Is it any good? It’s fucking amazing.
What’s doing with John Stone? He wants to help the dead girl’s orphaned cat, but he’s allergic.
How does it start? “Homosexual?” asks the heavyset woman of color.
The big news? We see a bit less of Dennis Box this week as the story grows thicker with prisoners and lawyers.
What else is HBO not telling us? This series deserves to sweep all miniseries categories next year.
What’s good? “Are you a civilian?” “Nothing brown.” “You rape that girl?” “Traction.” “Not the good kind.” “Close your eyes, I said.” “10 days.” The shower scene. The Crisco. Stone’s discussion of his fee with Naz’s parents. The molestation of Naz’s mother. Glenne Headley as the flight attendant’s attorney. The taxicab subplot. The shoes in the window. The cat!
What’s not so good? Nothing.
How does it end, spoiler boy? With fire!

HBO’s “The Night Of” shot up sharply in its second week and it’s doing a lot better than “Vinyl,” but it’s not pulling “Power” numbers, let alone “Game of Thrones” numbers.
“Ballers” was the top show on HBO last Sunday but was doing a lot better last year when the Dwayne Johnson sitcom was following “True Detective.”
Ratings-wise “Ray Donovan” plummeted to oblivion.
