Brie Larson Confirmed to Play Captain Marvel

Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson has been confirmed to play the title role in Disney and Marvel’s “Captain Marvel.” The film launches March 8, 2019. Marvel Studios confirmed the news at the annual Comic-Con confab in San Diego, where Larson received a standing ovation in Hall H. Variety exclusively reported in June that the “Room” star… Read more »

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I have to start out by saying I adore Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s one of my favorite Marvel movies and I love it to bits and pieces. I also adore the Disney theme parks. I’m a season pass holder even though I live half the country away and visit the California parks 5-6 times a year.
The idea of there being a Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disney’s California Adventure is awesome. The fact that it’s taking over Twilight Zone Tower of Terror… not so awesome.
I get it. There’s only so much room for them build and Star Wars Land is going to take over every square inch of new real estate they’ve gotten around the Disney parks. I just can’t help being bummed that Rod Serling is being booted out for Groot. There’s something awesome about introducing a whole generation of kids to Twilight Zone through that ride that we’re going to miss out on now.
As far as I know, the Tower of Terror in Orlando is still going to be there and to be fair, that version of the ride is far superior to the one in Anaheim, so it’s not the end of the world, but I still can’t help feel a twinge of sadness that this is happening.
Here’s what Tower of Tower looks like right now and I’ll follow this up with some concept images showing you what to expect from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY – MISSION: BREAKOUT, which will debut

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING production art reveals Michael Keaton’s feathery character!!!

This will make BIRDMAN forever a double feature with this movie!

Hey folks, Harry here…   It wasn’t really a highly held secret – just about everyone in the info-gathering realms all heard from their sources it would be THE VULTURE fighting SPIDER-MAN in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING…   and that Michael Keaton was playing him.  Hell, even IMDB had Keaton listed as being the Vulture…  and that’s just grand.   It means that forever, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING will be the first film I play before watching BIRDMAN…  and Oh the giggles.  But when I think of the Vulture my mind always conjures Steve Ditko’s version first.

I mean…  Right?   That’s him…   But the VULTURE’s gear and look has changed more than just about anyone could keep track of…   and with FALCON flying in this same universe – the tech for winged flight has already been demonstrated and tech’d in the MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE…   and at the panel in HALL H of Comic Con – they screened footage I haven’t seen online yet – but also revealed this Production Art:

Isn’t that just utterly terrific?   Look at them clawed feet – love it!
Keep it cool,

It’s official! Brie Larson is CAPTAIN MARVEL!

Perfect choice for a kick ass character!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The final cherry ton top of Marvel’s big Hall H presentation was the official confirmation that Brie Larson will indeed be playing Captain Marvel!
We already kinda knew that, but it’s great that she’s officially part of the family now. Carol Danvers is a huge character and Larson is so goddamn good at everything she does that I can’t help but view this as one of the best moves Marvel has made since casting Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man.
Even though I wasn’t on the ground in San Diego it really feels like Marvel’s still swinging for the fences and delivering quality project after quality project. The live tweeting from in the room was nothing but excitement, even from the more cynical among my colleagues.
Brie Larson will kill it in this role. I absolutely can not wait to see her mix it up with the Marvel family!

Lee Majors Makes His Comic-Con Debut At ‘Ash Vs Evil Dead’ Panel

Lee Majors made his first Comic-Con appearance ever today at Starz‘s Ash Vs. Evil Dead panel. As previously reported, he’ll play the father to Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams, the one handed chainsaw man.
“This is a guy who had two series go over 100 episodes,” beamed Bruce Campbell in his introduction to Majors.
Said co-creator Sam Raimi, “We get to learn about Bruce’s character through Lee Majors.”
“We get to see where Ash got all of his bad habits,” said Campbell.

Donald Trump on Roger Ailes’ Fox News Exit: ‘Very Sad’

Donald Trump, in a taped appearance for NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, defended Roger Ailes but was coy about whether the recently departed Fox News chief was advising his campaign. Ailes resigned on Thursday in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment, but there were reports that he had conversations with Trump last week… Read more »

Kurt Russell’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY V.2 character revealed!

And yes, he’s Star Lord’s dad…

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We’ve known for a while that Kurt Russell was cast in Guardians of Galaxy V.2 and it was strongly hinted at that he would be playing Star Lord’s dad. Well, today at Marvel’s Comic-Con panel it was revealed that he is indeed Star Lord’s dad, but it gets weird.
Kurt Russell will be playing this guy:

That’s right, a living planet fathered Star Lord and that living planet is being played by Kurt Fuckin’ Russell (his legal middle name, I believe).
They showed some footage at the panel that also confirmed Sylvester Stallone is in the cast, which of course makes this a quasi-sequel to Tango & Cash officially, I think. Word from those in the Hall was that the slightly more grown up Baby Groot stole the show (after footage of him helping Yondu and Rocket break out of prison) and that Come A Little Bit Closer and Break the Chain are on the new mix-tape.
There’s also some news about a Guardians ride at Disneyland, but I’ll write a separate story on that.

Brie Larson (Finally) Confirmed As Captain Marvel – Comic-Con

Near the end of Marvel’s supersized Hall H panel this evening at Comic-Con, the studio made official what the rest of the world has taken for granted as a fact since reports of her casting first emerged back in June: Brie Larson will be playing Carol Danvers — aka Captain Marvel — in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel’s Kevin Feige made the announcement, and Larson surprised the crowd by showing up onstage. He called her the newest member of the Marvel family but did…

‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Theme Park Plans In Works, Marvel Confirms

Director James Gunn brought the crew of the Milano to Hall H tonight during Marvel’s big Comic-Con panel for a discussion of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the first-ever showing of footage from the film. Marvel also used the occasion to break the news that a Guardians theme park attraction is in the works at Disney’s California Adventure.
The attraction, called Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, will feature Benecio del Toro returning as the Collector for the…
