Herc Has A Crackpot Theory About The NCC-1031!!

I am – Hercules!!
I’m certain someone on the Internet has already thought of this but so far it’s been absent from the AICN comment section.
In “Deep Space Nine” we learned of a black ops organization that operates independently of Starfleet Intelligence. We saw it again in UPN’s “Enterprise” and we saw an Abramsverse version of it in “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
In each instance this secret organization was referred to as Section 31 (so named because it derives its operating authority from the Starfleet charter – Article 14, Section 31).
Section 31 has always been charged with dealing with “extraordinary” threats to the Federation.

I suspect this is why the U.S.S. Discovery sports the numerical designation NCC-1031. (The “10” part added of course just to make it more Halloweeny.)
If the ship is a component of the secret Section 31, that might also explain why the Discovery appears to make its home hidden in a hollowed-out asteroid.
“Star Trek: Discovery,” with a writers room headed by Trek vets Bryan Fuller (“Deep Space Nine,” “Voyager”) and Nicholas Meyer (“The Wrath of Khan,” “The Voyage Home,” “The Undiscovered Country”), hits the online streaming service CBS All Access in January.

The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day – From the Making of The ’66 Batman Show!

Adam West suits up in this gorgeous black and white BTS image!

Read the full article on AICN

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Thought I forgot about the BTS pic today, didn’t you? Technically it’s still Saturday on the West Coast, so I’m going to go ahead and say I’m not late with this one.
It was a day of Comic-Con news flying fast and furious that put this column on the backburner, so it’s only fitting that today’s image is of Batman. Specifically it’s an awesome, beautiful black and white shot of the great Adam West putting on his cowl, which I believe originated from a spread in Look Magazine.

Since tomorrow marks the last day of Comic-Con I’m gonna go ahead and run with another classic TV superhero (cue sad hitchhiking theme). See ya’ then!

The Night Of 1.3 FAQ
What’s it called? “A Dark Crate.”
Who’s responsible? Storytelling genius Steve Zaillian (“Searching For Bobby Fischer”) directs from a teleplay by storytelling genius Richard Price (“Mad Dog and Glory”).
What says HBO? “Awaiting his formal arraignment at Rikers Island, Naz (Riz Ahmed) realizes that his survival, or perhaps his demise, rests with a particular inmate, Freddy (Michael Kenneth Williams).”
Is it any good? It’s fucking amazing.
What’s doing with John Stone? He wants to help the dead girl’s orphaned cat, but he’s allergic.
How does it start? “Homosexual?” asks the heavyset woman of color.
The big news? We see a bit less of Dennis Box this week as the story grows thicker with prisoners and lawyers.
What else is HBO not telling us? This series deserves to sweep all miniseries categories next year.
What’s good? “Are you a civilian?” “Nothing brown.” “You rape that girl?” “Traction.” “Not the good kind.” “Close your eyes, I said.” “10 days.” The shower scene. The Crisco. Stone’s discussion of his fee with Naz’s parents. The molestation of Naz’s mother. Glenne Headley as the flight attendant’s attorney. The taxicab subplot. The shoes in the window. The cat!
What’s not so good? Nothing.
How does it end, spoiler boy? With fire!

AMC Says Of Tonight’s “Finish The Song”:
Jesse’s in the wind while those close to him face life-changing decisions; the Cowboy comes back to Ratwater seeking his revenge.

What Showtime isn’t telling you is Carla Gugino’s married character gets very horny for her new assistant this week. This essentially constitutes porn for some of us. Showtime Says Of Tonight’s “Friends and Family”:
In the band’s hometown of Denver, needy friends and family cause havoc.
Spoilers for tonight’s and future episodes of “Big Brother” lurk in invisotext:
James won HoH and nominated Bridgette and Frank for eviction
Premiering or returning tonight: Popples (Netflix) Survivor’s Remorse (Starz)

The third-season premiere of “Power” set an all-time record for a Starz series. The channel immediately ordered two more seasons.
HBO’s “The Night Of” shot up sharply in its second week and it’s doing a lot better than “Vinyl,” but it’s not pulling “Power” numbers, let alone “Game of Thrones” numbers.
“Ballers” was the top show on HBO last Sunday but was doing a lot better last year when the Dwayne Johnson sitcom was following “True Detective.”
Ratings-wise “Ray Donovan” plummeted to oblivion.

The presentation is almost five minutes long, but there’s no new footage until after the 4:15 mark.
I sense we’ve already glimpsed The Court of Owls, the Tweedle Bros., Clayface, Killer Croc and The Mad Hatter in and out of Dr. Strange’s basement this past season, and “Gotham” writer-producer John Stephens says we’ll be getting better looks at them next season.
Add to that list Solomon Grundy. Originally depicted in 1944’s All-American Comics #61 as an enemy of Alan Scott, DC Comics’ first Green Lantern, Grundy went on to battle Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash and any number of other DC heroes.
5’10” model-actress Maggie Geha, 28, is replacing 5’1″ child actress Clare Foley, 14, in the role of Ivy Pepper.
And the girl holding the camera is supercute Jamie Chung, a veteran of MTV’s “The Real World,” who has been cast as Vicki Vale’s hot aunt, journalist Valerie Vale. You heard me. She’ll be getting in the I-Want-To-Bone-Gordon line behind Leslie Thomkins and Barbara Kean.
Is that Ed Nygma jumping on Alfred Pennyworth at the end?

“Incorporated” comes to us from screenwriters Alex and David Pastor, whose big-screen credits include two 2015 movies: “Out of the Dark” (which garnered 13% positive reviews from “top critics” polled by Rotten Tomatoes) and “Self/less” (6%).
Its cast includes Dennis Haysbert (“24”) and Britisher Julia Ormond (ditching the French accent she sported as Megan’s mom on “Mad Men”).
Ah, the business of evil! Fans deservedly give “Alien: Resurrection” a lot of shit, but I  found it plenty funny when Joss Whedon’s script revealed Weyland-Yutani was eventually taken over by Walmart.

Elijah Wood is getting to be the go-to guy for American basic cable remakes of high-concept foreign TV comedies.
The former hobbit co-starred with Jason Gann in 49 episodes of FX’s “Wilfred,” a remake of Gann’s Australian series about a fellow who can hear his neighbor’s dog talk.
And now Wood will co-star as Todd in BBC America’s “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency,” a remake of ITV’s British series “Dirk Gently.”
Both the British and American versions are based on “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency,” a 1987 novel by “Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy” author Douglas Adams.
Screenwriter Max Landis (“Chronicle,” “Me Him Her,” “American Ultra”) is penning the project, comprised of eight hour-long episodes.
Old press release!
New York, NY – March 22, 2016 – BBC AMERICA announced today Elijah Wood (The Trust, Cooties, Wilfred) has been cast as “Todd” in the network’s new original scripted series Dirk Gently, set to premiere in Fall 2016. Penned by Max Landis – the mind behind cult classic Chronicle – the (8 x 60) series is a co-production of AMC Studios, IDEATE MEDIA and IDW Entertainment with Circle of Confusion producing.

Dirk Gently is a comedic thriller that follows the bizarre adventures of eccentric “holistic” detective Dirk Gently and his reluctant assistant Todd, as they wend their way through one big, seemingly insane mystery a season, crossing unlikely paths with a bevy of wild and sometimes dangerous characters, each episode landing them a few random steps closer to uncovering the truth.
He’s not a sidekick. Todd’s just

Kevin Williamson, the “Dawson’s Creek” creator whose “The Following” and “Stalker” were both cancelled last year, is now losing “The Vampire Diaries” as well. The good news for Williamson is ABC picked up his “Time After Time” time-travel series.
Press release!
“THE VAMPIRE DIARIES” TO CONCLUDE AFTER EIGHT SEASONS OF EPIC HIGH-STAKES DRAMA

The Eighth and Final Season Will Premiere Friday, Oct. 21, 8-9 PM
July 23, 2016 (Burbank, CA) – After eight epic seasons of high-stakes romance, adventure, and drama, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES will conclude its run with the upcoming 2016-17 season. The announcement was made today at San Diego Comic-Con® by executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. The panel concluded with a farewell video from the cast and producers, which featured an exclusive premiere of the new song “Changing Tides,” by The Fray.
The use of music by The Fray continues a long association between THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and the rock band, which dates back to the beginning of the series and the use of the song “Never Say Never” in the pilot episode. The Fray’s songs “Be Still” and “Ungodly Hour” have also been used in key episodes of the series.
“It’s so rare for a show to get to last this long, and what a privilege that Mark Pedowitz and Peter Roth have allowed us to choose the time to end the journey on our own creative terms,” said Plec. “It’s been eight of the best years of my life. I will miss it terribly, but I’m so
